Marvel at the iconic Dom Luís I Bridge, designed by a disciple of Gustave Eiffel, who also contributed to the construction of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Statue of Liberty in New York. A highlight of the tour is the renowned Livraria Lello, one of the world’s most famous bookshops. Its breathtaking interior design and storied history make it a must-visit destination. The iconic staircase of Livraria Lello even inspired the magical library in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series—Rowling lived in Porto in the early 1990s, teaching English.

(Please note: entrance fees to monuments are not included.)

Porto Taylor’s Wine Cellar – A Journey Through History and Flavors

Port wine is one of Europe’s most iconic and historic wines, with a rich and captivating story that spans centuries. At Taylor’s Wine Cellars, visitors have the unique opportunity to explore the heritage of one of the oldest and most esteemed producers in the Douro Valley: the House of Taylor’s. Founded in 1692 by Job Bearsley, Taylor’s has remained proudly independent, thriving across four centuries to become one of the world’s most respected historic wine houses.

The Douro Valley, the birthplace of Port wine, is a stunning and ancient winemaking region, where vines have been cultivated for over 2,000 years. In 1756, it became the first officially demarcated wine region in the world, and by the following year, its vineyards were meticulously classified—preceding even the famous Bordeaux region by nearly a century.

Embark on a journey through Taylor’s Wine Cellars to discover the legacy of Port wine, the beauty of the Douro Valley, and the craftsmanship behind every bottle.

(Please note - Not included: transfer to Wine cellar)

Dinner at Barão Fladgate Restaurant

Treat your senses to an unforgettable dining experience at one of Porto’s most cherished restaurants. Nestled within the grounds of Taylor’s Port cellars, Barão Fladgate Restaurant boasts a stunning location with breathtaking views of the Douro River and Porto's historic city center.

The menu offers a contemporary twist on traditional Portuguese cuisine, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients and the rich, authentic flavors of the region. Complementing the culinary experience is an extensive wine list, featuring a diverse selection from Portugal’s premier vineyards, along with an exceptional range of wood-aged and Vintage Ports.

Named in honor of John Fladgate, the renowned 19th-century Port shipper and Taylor’s partner who was awarded the title of Baron for his contributions to viticulture, Barão Fladgate has spent the last 20 years perfecting its reputation for exquisite cuisine and impeccable service.

(Please note - Not included: transfer to restaurant)

Day 5 to Day 6

After breakfast, check out and meet your driver for a private transfer to Douro Valley.

Northern Portugal is a region renowned for its rich cultural and natural heritage, with the Douro Valley standing out as one of its most treasured gems. Recognized as the world’s first demarcated wine region, the Douro Valley is also a UNESCO World Heritage site, celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes. As the esteemed Portuguese writer Miguel Torga once described, "Majestic Douro, the wonder of a landscape… an excess of Nature that eyes cannot contemplate at its full!"

Enjoy a two-night stay at a luxurious 5-star hotel in the heart of the Douro Valley, complete with a buffet breakfast each morning.

Private Tour to the Douro Valley (Including Hotel Transfer)

Depart from your hotel in Porto and embark on a private deluxe Mercedes journey to explore the enchanting Douro Valley. Your first stop is the picturesque town of Amarante, nestled on the Tâmega River, where locals famously resisted Napoleon’s army in 1763.

Next, venture into the Douro Valley, the birthplace of the renowned Port wine, and be mesmerized by its breathtaking landscapes of lush, terraced vineyards stretching across rolling green and golden hills. Visit the historic town of Lamego, home to the striking baroque staircase adorned with blue-and-white tiles, leading up to the Marian Shrine of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios.

Continue your journey to Peso da Régua, where you'll explore the Douro Museum to learn about the region’s rich wine culture and history. Peso da Régua played a crucial role in the Port wine trade, with barrels traditionally transported by iconic ‘rabelos’ boats to Vila Nova de Gaia for aging in local wine lodges.

Your final destination is Pinhão, where you'll visit the beautiful, historic train station and tour a local ‘Quinta’ (vineyard), where you’ll enjoy a wine-tasting experience amidst the stunning scenery.

(Please note: Lunch and monument entrance fees are not included.)

Day 7

After breakfast, meet your driver at the hotel reception for a private transfer to Lisbon in a deluxe Mercedes sedan. Spend your final night in Lisbon at a luxurious 5-star hotel, complete with a buffet breakfast.

Fado Dinner

Enjoy a memorable farewell evening with a dinner accompanied by a Fado performance at one of the renowned Fado restaurants in the historic Alfama or Bairro Alto neighborhoods.

Fado, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage tradition, is a deeply emotional musical expression of the Portuguese people. Originating in Lisbon, it is often described as the city's musical soul and a symbol of the country. The word "Fado" comes from "fate" or "destiny," and the genre is often likened to the blues, marked by poignant vocals and the distinct sound of the Portuguese guitar. Each powerful ballad conveys the emotion of "saudade," a sense of longing for something lost.

(Please note: Lunch and monument entrance fees are not included.)
