Combine Lisbon with São Miguel on an 11-day, 10-night Portugal and Azores journey. Begin with two nights in Lisbon and a full-day small-group tour by minivan combining Sintra, Cascais, Belém and central Lisbon. Continue to São Miguel for six nights in Ponta Delgada, including guided excursions to Sete Cidades and Furnas, before returning to Lisbon for two final nights.
The Lisbon program introduces Sintra’s historic center and Pena Palace, the Atlantic coast at Cascais, the monuments of Belém and central Lisbon. On São Miguel, explore the volcanic landscapes of Sete Cidades and Furnas, visit a pineapple plantation and tea plantation, experience Furnas’ geothermal activity, and enjoy a traditional cozido lunch.
This package combines organized sightseeing with generous independent time. Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 - Lisbon: Arrival
Arrive at Lisbon Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Check in for a two-night stay in Lisbon on a bed-and-breakfast basis. The remainder of the day is free to settle in and begin exploring the Portuguese capital at your own pace.
Day 2 - Sintra, Cascais & Lisbon: Full-Day Small-Group Tour
Depart from the designated meeting point for a full-day small-group tour by minivan combining Sintra, Cascais, Belém and central Lisbon.
Travel first to Sintra, a UNESCO World Heritage destination, for a guided visit to the exterior areas and gardens of Pena Palace. The Pena Palace ticket is included. Continue to Sintra’s historic center for free time to explore the winding streets, traditional shops or enjoy lunch at a local restaurant; lunch is not included.
After lunch, continue to Cascais for free time in the seaside town. Return toward Lisbon for a panoramic visit to Belém, including views of Belém Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries, a stop at Jerónimos Monastery, and a Pastéis de Belém tasting, which is included.
The day concludes with a panoramic tour through central Lisbon, passing areas and landmarks such as Estrela, São Pedro de Alcântara, Cais do Sodré, Ribeira das Naus, Praça do Comércio, Largo Camões, Rossio and Restauradores.
Day 3 - Lisbon to São Miguel
Check out from your Lisbon hotel and transfer to Lisbon Airport for your flight to São Miguel in the Azores. Upon arrival at Ponta Delgada Airport, transfer to your hotel in Ponta Delgada for a six-night stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Days 4-8 - São Miguel: Guided Excursions & Free Time
During your six-night stay on São Miguel, the package includes the following guided excursions. The exact operating day may vary according to the local tour schedule.
Half-Day Sete Cidades Tour
Join a regular guided tour departing around 09:00 for Sete Cidades, one of São Miguel’s most recognizable volcanic landscapes. View the Green and Blue Lakes and the surrounding caldera scenery, and visit a pineapple plantation during the excursion.
Full-Day Furnas Tour with Lunch
Join a regular full-day guided tour departing around 09:00 for Furnas, where geothermal activity shapes the landscape. See fumaroles and mineral springs, visit a tea plantation, and enjoy the traditional Cozido das Furnas, cooked using natural geothermal heat. Lunch is included.
After lunch, visit Terra Nostra Park, where there is an opportunity to enjoy its thermal-pool setting. Entrance fees are not included.
The remaining time on São Miguel is free for independent sightseeing, optional activities and relaxation in Ponta Delgada or elsewhere on the island.
Day 9 - São Miguel to Lisbon
Check out from your hotel in Ponta Delgada and transfer to the airport for your return flight to Lisbon. Upon arrival at Lisbon Airport, transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay on a bed-and-breakfast basis.
Day 10 - Lisbon: Leisure Day
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Lisbon. Use the time for independent sightseeing, shopping, museums, dining or revisiting favorite neighborhoods before your departure the following day.
Day 11 - Lisbon: Departure
Check out from your hotel and transfer to Lisbon Airport for your departure.

- The full-day Sintra, Cascais and Lisbon excursion operates as a small-group tour by minivan and departs from a designated meeting point.
- The Sete Cidades half-day tour and Furnas full-day tour operate as regular guided tours. Their exact operating days during the São Miguel stay may vary.
- The Pena Palace ticket specified for the Day 2 tour is included. The visit described by the supplier is to the palace exterior areas and gardens.
