Tour Overview
Lisbon is the Portuguese Capital, known as the city of ‘seven hills’ located on the Tagus’ river mouth and the World’s Leading City Break Destinations 2017. This cosmopolitan city is famous for its hospitality, gastronomy and rich cultural heritage. Lisbon is an historical city full of authenticity and stories to tell where tradition and history intersect with cultural entertainment, where historical monuments and World Heritage Sites blend with urban art produced by world famous artists.
Algarve is the most southern region of Portugal, offering magnificent beaches and a blessed climate, as well as a rich folk heritage which is worth appreciating along with the pleasures of the sun and the sea. Devote some time to discover old customs, living traditions and heritage buildings which can be enjoyed throughout the year. Algarvian’s across the centuries have left such a rich heritage which deserves to be explored: from the unique celebrations of festive occasions (such as Easter, Christmas or spring); to the historical buildings of ancient and recent times; to the irresistible delicacies making up the regional cuisine.
Itinerary
Day 1- Lisbon
Arrival at Lisbon Airport. Private transfer included to your hotel in Lisbon, where you will stay for 2 nights on Bed and Breakfast basis. Spend your time in the capital of Portugal! Lisbon is a fantastic city to visit, with monuments, museums, restaurants, religious & historic buildings, gardens and cultural places to see.
Day 2- Full day Lisbon and Sintra Tour
A Small group Tour by minivan with a departure from a meeting point that will be informed on your documents. This tour will be filled with beauty and history from Sintra, Cascais, Belem and Lisbon. Departing rom Lisbon towards Sintra, an UNESCO World Heritage Site and begin a guided tour to the exterior of the stunning Pena Palace ( entrance fee included), an architectural masterpiece set amongst lush gardens. Visit Sintra downtown and enjoy some free time to stroll through the charming and winding streets with traditional shops and enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch at one of the local restaurants ( lunch not included). After lunch, the tour continues to Cascais, a seaside town allowing some free time to explore the beach and historic center. Arriving to Lisbon, panoramic tour of Belem. Stop at Jeronimos Monastery and visit the Casa dos Pasteis for a taste of the famous Pasteis de Belem included). This tour will end with a panoramic view of Lisbon city.
Day 3 - Lisbon/ Algarve
Check out of your Hotel in Lisbon. Private transfer included to the “Gare do Oriente” railway Station, Lisbon and pick – up the train to “Tunes” railway station (Algarve). You will travel in First Class and the journey will take approximately 3 hours. Private transfer included from “Tunes” railway station to your hotel in the Algarve Region where you will stay for 4 nights.
Day 4- Full Day Historical Algarve
Meet the guide for a regular tour available on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday. Visit the mountains and see some remains of Moorish and Roman existence. The city of Silves, the old Moorish Capital, where you will visit the castle and cathedral. Climb the Monchique Mountains to Foia - the highest point of the Algarve where you will have free time to take spectacular photos. Lagos - indoor slave market, the first in Europe, Saint Anthony's golden church, fort and old town. Cape “Saint Vincent”, the most south-westerly point of Europe, known as "the End of the World". Visit to the strongest lighthouse in Europe, Baleeira - beautiful fishing harbour and pass by the Fortaleza, Home of Prince Henry's School of Navigation. Note: This tour may be replaced by a Full day Traditional Algarve, depending on availabilities.
Day 5 & 6 - Algarve
Free days.
Day 7 - Algarve/ Lisbon
Check out from your Hotel in the Algarve and private transfer included to “Tunes” railway station (Algarve) and take the train back to Lisbon. Travel in First Class. Arrival in Lisbon and private transfer included from “Gare do Oriente railway station to your hotel in Lisbon and overnight.
Day 8- Lisbon
Enjoy this farewell dinner to end your visit to Portugal experiencing the good food and the traditional Fado music at one of the famous Fado restaurants in Alfama or Bairro Alto quarters. Fado is a musical portuguese expression where the word "saudade" is often mentioned and what makes the city of Lisbon world known.
Day 9- Lisbon
Private transfer from your hotel to Lisbon Airport and board your flight.
