Day 01, Porto
Arrival in Porto on your own. Your information packet containing complete route descriptions, materials and your Pilgrims Passport will be waiting for you at your hotel. Accommodations in Porto. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 2, Porto-Vilar do Pinheiro-Arcos (Stage 1: 19 km) (4-5 h)
Breakfast. Morning private transfer from your Porto hotel to the small village of Vilar do Pinheiro where you'll start your walk to the town of Arcos. Overnight in Arcos. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 3, Arcos-Barcelos (Stage 2: 20 km) (4-5 h) Breakfast. This morning's stage take you through lush valleys before arriving to Barcelos, entering the town by it's medieval bridge. Barcelos has many historical treasures and medieval legends. A walk through the old quarter of town is recommended. Accommodations in Barcelos. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 4, Barcelos-Balugaes (Stage 3: 16 km) (3-4 h)
Breakfast. During today's stage you'll pass through small hamlets filled with vegetable gardensyou're your way, you'll find several interesting Baroque chapels. Finally you'll arrive to the tranquil village of Balugaes, on the Portuguese Camino. Accommodations in Balugaes. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 5, Balugaes-Ponte de Lima (Stage 4: 17 km) (3-4 h)
Breakfast. Little by little you'll get closer to the Lima river valley, where the beautiful town of Ponte de Lima awaits. Ponte de Lima is the oldest village in Northern Portugal and is filled with narrow streets that start at the river and end in the towns perfectly preserved historical quarter. You are sure to enjoy this lovely town. Overnight in Ponte de Lima. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 6, Ponte de Lima-Pecene (Stage 5: 18 km) (3-4 h)
Breakfast. This morning you'll leave Ponte de Lima behind, crossing it's historical bridge. You'll walk on a slight uphill towards the town of Portela Grande and you'll enter Rubiaes on it Roman way. From here you'll descend along fertile valleys to the charming hamlet of Pecene for overnight accommodations. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 7, Pecene-Tui (Stage 6: 15 km) (4-5 h)
Breakfast. Today's stage is highlighted by mountaineaus terrain that take you slowly towards the fortress of Valenca do Minho on the Portugal-Spain border. Here, you cross the Miño river on the international bridge to the Galician town of Tui with it's impressive cathedral perched on a hill overlooking the town. Overnight in Tui. Comfort and Superior class includes lodging at the Pardor de Tui for two nights. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 8, Tui ‐ O Porriño - Tui (stage 7: 15 km) (3‐4 h) Breakfast. You will today have the chance to choose between two different routes to reach O Porriño. Leaving the medieval town of Tui, and after walking 7 km, you can follow the original Way or turn to the left and walk over a new path that runs along the rural landscape. Both options meet each other again at the entrance of O Porriño. In Porriño, meet your driver at the designated point at 14:00 hours for your return transfer to Tui for overnight. Day 9: Tui - transfer to O Porriño ‐ Redondela (stage 8: 16 km) (3‐4 h)
Breakfast. 9:00am transfer to Porriño to resume your walk. The route crosses the Louro river, leading to the nice spot of Santa Eulalia and the Marquis of Mos palace. A gentle climb leads us at the chapel of Santiaguiño de Antas, a pleasant place to take a rest before entering in Redondela. From this point we take you to a wonderful Galician manor house to spend the night. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 10: Redondela ‐ Pontevedra (stage 9: 19 km) (4‐5 h)
Breakfast. After a short transfer back to the Way, we could enjoy nice views of the ría (inlet) de Vigo in our way to Arcade, a seaside village well‐known for its oysters. After leaving Arcade we cross the historic bridge of Ponte Sampaio, taking us to the Romanesque church of Santa María. Not far we will enter in Pontevedra, one the most beautiful cities in Galicia. Do not miss the sanctuary of the Virxe Peregrina, the ruins of San Domingos, the Santa María A Grande church and the small squares and narrow alleys in the old city. Comfort and Superior class includes lodging at the Pardor de Pontevedra. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 11: Pontevedra ‐ Caldas de Reis (stage 10: 21 km) (5‐6 h)
Breakfast. After leaving Pontevedra via the Ponte do Burgo bridge you will meet the Galician countryside. On your way, you will walk along the parish of Alba and the village of Briallos, now you are in the heart of the Salnés Valley, walking through vineyards. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 12: Caldas de Reis ‐ Padrón (stage 11: 21 km) (4‐5 h) Breakfast. After leaving behind Caldas de Reis you will now walk along the countryside again. O Pino and San Miguel de Valga are the two hamlets you will find on your way before reaching the town Pontecesures, where the river Ulla forms the natural border (provinces of Pontevedra and A Coruña). After crossing the river, you will head to Padrón, known by their “green peppers”. Value package includes dinner this evening.
Day 13: Padrón ‐ Santiago (stage 12: 23 km) (5‐6 h) Breakfast. Our last stage will lead us into a constant ascent crossing small settlements with beautiful heritage such as Iria Flavia, A Escravitude or Angueira de Suso, before arriving to the historical city of Santiago. Superior class includes lodging at the Parador dos Reis Catolicos.
Day 14: Santiago - Departure
After breakfast, departure and end of our services.
