Day 1-Arrival
Arrival and transfer to the hotel. Free day.
Day 2-Hiking Tour Moinho do Felix (FD) Extension: 5.5 Km/3.42 miles |Level: Easy |Duration:5:30 hours
A lovely hike along waterfalls that meet the coastal line, passing thru watermills from where once flour fed the most of the island and iconic fountains that granted water to the communities.
Day 3-Van Tour Furnas (FD) Duration: 8 hours
This day is to rest your legs and just have a few walking during this tour to Furnas. The valley of Furnas is one of the largest thermal hydropolis in the world, rich in iron, sulphur waters that sprout a bit everywhere to be tasted and have the experience of touch (always follow the guide recommendations, do not touch boiling water or mud). There's a trail of gold left behind from the rusty streams, a gothic chapel by the lake, a constant whisper from the fumeroles and geysers, and the most magnificent botanical Garden as part of this tour. The famous cozido das Furnas, a meal cooked underground by the heat of the volcano, is included. This meal consists in a variety of vegetables and meats.
Day 4-Hiking Lagoa do Fogo – Full day Extension: 11 Km/6.84 miles |Level: Medium |Duration: 7 hours
A lake born from fire with astonishing sights of an untouchable nature. The endemic vegetation and the apparentely unused trails that will take you thru old plant's ruins, convents, natutal swimiming pools and the charming beaches.
Day 5- Hiking Salto do Cabrito (HD) Extension: 4 Km/2.49 miles |Level: Medium |Duration: 3.5 hours
A day around sulphurous waters, the intense smell from the fertile vegetation will make you feel part of the surrounding nature : flowers, vines, tubers and thick carpets of moss. From the 1st electrical plant in the island, dating the 19th century, to the clear pits where you can bath in, from the bubbling waterfalls to leafy branches providing shade, from iron suspended bridges over streams and small rays of lights, will all be the highlights of this hike day.
Day 6-Hiking Tour Serra Devassa & Nascentes do canario (FD) Extension: 10.4 Km/6.46 miles |Level: Easy |Duration: 7hours
This is a beautiful hike to the volcanic complex of Sete Cidades will take you thru a path of serenity and beauty of the lakes, aqueducts and waterfalls.
Day 7- Hiking Tour Faial da Terra & Van tour to Nordeste (FD) Extension: 4.5 km/2.79 miles | Level: Easy | Duration: 7:30hours
On this day, there's a hike and a van tour to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape of this side of the island. Starting with a hike thru a hidden settlement in the mountain and the waterfall Salto do prego. A view over the old whalers harbor and the colorful small boats and end at Ponta do Sossego. And return to the hotel.
Day 8-Free day
Time to take off those hiking shoes and clothes, it's your free to visit the city.
Day 9-Free day
Enjoy this last day to rest and last minute shoppings.
Day 10-Departure
Transfer from the hotel to the airport and departure.
