Experience Portugal at a relaxed pace. Tour Lisbon, Porto, and some of the typical towns and villages along the stunning north-west coastline.
Throughout this tour, you’ll visit all the must-see attractions. First, check out the 16th century Jeronimos Monastery, which is often regarded as Lisbon’s most important landmark. It was traditional for Portuguese seafarers to pray in the monastery chapel before their departure to the unknown. You'll also see the Sanctuary of our Lady of the Rosary in Fatima, a pilgrimage site where apparitions of the Virgin Mary were reported by three local children in 1917. In addition, you'll get a chance to tour the 700-year-old university library in Coimbra, the Arabian Hall and the Church of Sao Francisco in Porto, and the Ossuary Chapel in Evora.
Globus has arranged some special treats so that you can savor Portuguese cuisine and wine. Enjoy a wine tasting at a Port wine cellar in Porto, olive oil tasting in Belmonte, and tapas with wine at the Quinta de Aveleda winery.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Lisbon, Portugal
Welcome to Lisbon! At 6 pm, meet your Tour Director and traveling companions for a welcome dinner at your hotel.
Day 2: Lisbon
Lisbon was the center of Europe’s longest-lived overseas empire. Portugal’s imperial ambitions date back to Prince Henry the Navigator’s 15th-century discoveries in West Africa. In the morning, tour Lisbon with a Local Guide. You'll drive through the city, then enjoy dinner at a typical taverna with Fado-style entertainment.

Day 3: Lisbon - Obidos - Alcobaça - Nazaré - Fatima - Tomar
Today you'll travel north from Lisbon, through the medieval town of Obidos. You'll get to see the elaborate tombs of the famous lovers, King Pedro I and Inês de Castro. Then enjoy lunch in the beautiful fishing harbor of Nazaré, and spend the afternoon at the country’s hallowed national shrine, Fatima’s Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary. You'll spend the night in Tomar, the historic seat of the mighty Order of the Knights of Christ.

Day 4: Tomar - Coimbra - Porto
As you continue to travel towards Porto, you'll get a chance to see the famous Manueline Window at the Convent of Christ. Then, you'll tour the gilded baroque library of the 700-year-old university of Coimbra. Enjoy your first night in Porto, before sightseeing the city tomorrow.

Day 5: Porto
Sightseeing with a Local Guide includes a panoramic drive to the mouth of the Douro River. Then, tour Porto and some of the most incredible sights this stunning city has to offer.

Day 6: Porto - Guimaraes - Viseu
Enjoy a walk through the medieval center of Guimaraes. After that, taste Portuguese tapas at the Quinta da Aveleda Winery and visit its splendid gardens. From here, a scenic road through the port wine vineyards leads to Viseu, where a dinner of local specialties and wine awaits you at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Viseu - Belmonte - Castelo De Vide - Evora
This morning, stop in Belmonte, today a symbol of Jewish awakening, for a visit of the Jewish Museum. You'll also walk through the Jewish quarter of Castelo de Vide, with its white-washed houses and medieval synagogue. Before arriving in Evora, visit a cork factory and learn about the many ways this sustainable material can be used.

Day 8: Evora - Lisbon
A massive wall surrounds Evora’s medieval center, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Follow your Local Guide on a walking tour through its narrow alleys, and enjoy sights such as the Roman Temple, the early gothic cathedral, Portas de Moura fountain, and Sao Francisco Church. Tonight, take in the spectacular panoramic views at Lisbon’s Varanda restaurant while enjoying a cocktail and a special farewell dinner with your traveling companions.
